AI Visibility
How the AI-Visibility score is computed from per-engine citations, mentions, and share-of-voice.
The AI-Visibility score measures how discoverable your business is inside AI answer engines. RankRush runs prompts relevant to your category against each engine and records how you show up.
The four signals
- Citations - you’re linked as a source in the answer. The strongest signal.
- Mentions - you’re named without a link.
- Share-of-voice - your presence relative to competitors on the same prompts.
- Competitor delta - the gap between you and the best-performing competitor.
Per-engine breakdown
The score is reported per engine - ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini - so you can see where you’re strong and where you’re invisible. An answer engine you’re missing from is usually the cheapest place to win first.
Visibility measures the outcome. To change it, run a Site Audit and work the Tech Tree - then re-check on the same prompts to attribute the movement to what you shipped.
Common questions
What counts as a citation vs a mention?
A citation links to you as a source in the AI’s answer; a mention names you without a link. Citations carry more weight because they’re what a reader (or the model) can follow back to you.
Which engines does RankRush track?
ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini. The score is reported per engine so you can prioritize the ones you’re missing from.
How do I move the score?
Visibility is an outcome of structure and presence. Fix the failing audit nodes (structure) and build presence in the sources engines read, like Reddit via Buzz, then re-scan on the same prompts.
